Biographical Notes
The Italian-Dutch artist Lidia Palumbi was born in Pescara in 1952. After she lived in Milan and Florence in the nineteen-seventies, she moved to the Netherlands. She took her first sculpture classes in Rotterdam in 1982 and thereafter in Toronto. Back in Holland, she studied sculpture and printmaking at the Minerva Academy of Arts in Groningen and graduated in 1989 with a degree in sculpture. She worked in Groningen and 's-Hertogenbosch exhibiting in various museums and galleries in Holland, Italy, England and Germany. Since 2018 she has returned to Italy and lives and works between Milan and the Netherlands.
Her Italian cultural background and the influence of the Northern school of thought merged together in the development of a sculptural language which unites essentiality of form with strong emotional content.
